Batach, Hasah, &
Amen (cont.)
Batach, hasah--the meaning is leaning on, running to and
a state that
knows—that’s the answer—that hears with
such devotion and worship
that when God says it, you
don’t question it anymore.
The only thing you have to do is be sure God said it, and
that’s why you’re
supposed to find a teacher that can
lead you aright, and leads you in such a
way that you
can check it yourself, and that’s why you never find Gene
Scott
saying, "do this cause God showed me this when a bird
chirped out in the woods."
But the meaning is—to lean—to run for shelter—to say amen
to God— you know the
occasion brings Him on the scene
because He’s promised never to leave us or forsake
us; and our
mission, as Paul’s mission was, is to take the message to all nations that this
is what God is looking for— not works of the law. He’s looking for the devoted, attitude response of faith which is that attentive, listening, worshipful, I know it’s going to be right
if God says it, and all you have to do is hear it, and you’re already acting, because you’re
in that realm of "hearing faith." Works of the law
or the hearing of faith? You know the
answer as Paul gives it--and it’s the answer I’m going to proclaim and keep proclaiming
to the whole, wide world.
