Psalm 91 (con't.)
The covering of feathers, as doves, eagles, and
ostriches cover
their young
ones, is a protective act.
The word truth means, His
faithfulness. God’s faith-
fulness is your protection.
v. 5 - Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
[nor] for the arrow
[that] flieth by day;
v. 6 - [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness;
[nor] for the destruction
[that] wasteth at noonday.
Verse 5 is fairly clear in its description. Don’t be afraid of
whatever goes on during
the day and night. Verse 6 the word
pestilence could be interpreted as misery and
misfortune as used
in Psalm 11:2.
To paraphrase verses 5 and 6, it means: Do not be afraid of what goes
on in life.
