The True Meaning of
Faith (con't.)
The Hebrew and the Greek meanings of Faith differ
from the English
inter-
pretation of the same word. The
English poorly defines the word.
It, through
time, changed the
word “Faith” to “believe.” Believe is a
passive word; Faith
is
active. Believe is a noun; Faith is a verb. In all
cases, Faith is
an action verb.
Paul, who mastered the Greek language, used the word in
the verb form—as in, “to faith.”
To say, “I am a faither”
is absolutely more accurate, in terms of the
Greek definition
of the word, than it is to use the English version, “I am a
believer.” The devil believes...but does
that make him a child
of God? Of course not.
You need to act on what you believe in order for Faith to take on its
original Greek
meaning that Paul and the Lord Jesus meant for us to use.
