What are Latte Stones? (con't)

There are doubts about the uses and the purpose for the latte stones as
have been written. It is more credible to assume that these stones were
erected in strategic areas throughout the island as landmarks of the rulers.
The largest stones tend to be in the higher elevations and the smaller ones,
lower.  

Here is a thought…if they were used as living quarters, why aren’t there many in
existence on the island?
